"The third song to be released from Son Of The Velvet Rat and The Ghost & The Machine's 'Red Barn Sessions' is a long time favorite by Ezra Furman, in our opinion one of today’s most prolific and interesting young songwriters. It’s also a new highlight in our live set and it’s with appreciation and gratitude for the gift of a great song that we play it for our audiences.

'Day Of The Dog' deals with the subject of justice and conveys an almost biblical sense of revenge. Furman talks about 'an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth', and the grim prospect of judgement day. However, there is an undercurrent of euphoric consent with the strange ways of the Lord. It’s a complex song and we can only hope our rendition will grant us salvation on the 'Day Of The Dog'."
