On Monday, November 18th, 2024, it's finally time for Lazy Afternoon to release their 1st Christmas single, "The Night Before Christmas".

The song was written by Gunnar Järeld and Bo Ahlbertz with Swedish lyrics, called "Gotländsk Julnatt", has been recorded by Rosalie Jonsson and performed by several choirs both on Gotland and in the rest of Sweden. Ken Donner from Toronto did the main work on the translation.

Cristina Säfsten sings lead and the song is mixed by Anders Nordh and mastered by Linus Larsson. Bo Ahlbertz stands as producer together with Anders Nordh and Stefan Magnusson. Released on Artache Records in co-operation with Paraply Records.

"The Night Before Christmas" is the 4th in a series of singles that Lazy Afternoon are now releasing.

"I am proud to work with a band that consists of three women and four men, with an age range from 20 up to 75. It gives a wonderful dynamic in the band", says Bo Ahlbertz, the band's founder and leader.

Lazy Afternoon's music ranges from country, over the broader concept of americana to folk rock with roots in Great Britain and Sweden. With many singing voices in the band, a rich flora of expression is given, as well as lovely harmonies. That the band has been compared both to Steeleye Span, The Band and Joan Baez speaks for both instrumental and vocal quality.
