On his 1st trip to Italy 20 years ago, Santa Fe, New Mexico based folk americana singer songwriter Jaime Michaels asked a friend, Italian singer songwriter Stefano Barotti, to recommend his favorite Italian songwriter. Without missing a beat, Barotti suggested the late legendary Fabrizio DeAndré. Although he didn’t understand the lyrics, Michaels fell in love with De André‘s music. With the assistance of his producer, Jono Manson, and concert promoter in Italy, Andrea Parodi Zabala, the tale of “The Fisherman” was translated into English. Released yesterday, on March 31st, 2023, the song is the 2nd single off Michaels’ forthcoming 12th studio album, "How To Shine", which is slated for worldwide release on April 22nd.
