Presenting “News,” a new collection of paintings by Joni Mitchell, in a book conceived and designed by Joni herself.

Painting has been a constant practice for Joni throughout her life, guided by a visual language that has always been distinctly her own. Over an iconoclastic career, she has always followed her own instincts over anyone’s expectations. “News” brings this practice to the fore in a forthright response to the world as she sees it today.

Across 23 compelling new paintings, Mitchell turns her eye to our 24 hour news cycles with slogans, song lyrics, and uncompromising imagery. Her sharp wit skewers power and politics; her voice articulates protest and resistance. A powerful expression of her undimmed creative independence and vision, “News” is a testament to the enduring power of art.
