"One of the best things about being a writer is that writing helps me process feelings and sometimes not only get to the heart of how I actually feel about things but sometimes I am able to write my way from the dark to the light. Life had suddenly dealt me a run of bad luck and I was feeling like I’d been knocked off of the top of the world. The song is almost like a prayer really. Knowing that many times when we reach outside our doubt to 'ask the sky' we don’t just get a little light, we get the sun wrapped in the rainbow of a promise for better days. I played the track of the song produced by Gabriel Rhodes for Emmylou Harris and asked if she would sing on it. Beth Nielsen Chapman showed up and we got the added bonus of having her sing on the track as well. I hope that when this song finds its way to anyone who is feeling blue it will make them feel like they are not alone. We all get the blues sometime. In that way 'Send Me The Sun' sort of qualifies as an americana blues number!" ~ Kimmie Rhodes
