Alice Howe & Freebo have undeniable chemistry. Bass legend Freebo weaves his fretless stylings into Alice’s soulful, impeccably-tuned vocals for a harmony driven performance showcasing 2 uniquely compelling songwriters. "Alice Howe & Freebo Live" is an inspired testament to that live show, featuring a selection of 14 songs recorded in front of a small audience at Rainshadow Recording Studio in Port Townsend, WA. The record features masterful electric guitar accompaniment by Jeff Fielder (Amy Ray, Indigo Girls), the Seattle multi instrumentalist whose playing has been a mainstay on all of Alice’s studio recordings.

"Alice Howe & Freebo Live" features several of each artists’ best known songs from throughout their catalogues, including Alice’s “Twilight” and “Somebody’s New Lover Now”, and Freebo’s “Standing Ovation” and “She Loves My Dog More Than Me”. Listeners will also be treated to the duo’s unique and beloved interpretations of classic songs “A Case Of You” by Joni Mitchell and John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.” The song selection showcases the depth and breadth of Alice and Freebo’s eclectic, genre defying style that encompasses everything from sweet, soulful ballads to rockin’ americana to swampy blues.

Alice’s debut to Folk Radio in 2017 included the #1 most played song, “Homeland Blues”. Her latest solo album "Circumstance", produced by Freebo and recorded at the iconic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, is “powerful, pitch perfect and truthful in every word” according to Happy Traum.

Best known for his 10 years playing bass with Bonnie Raitt, Freebo has toured and recorded with some of the greatest artists of his generation. For the past 25 years, he’s been writing and performing his own award winning music. As Paul Zollo puts it in 'Songwrters On Songwriting', “Freebo is more than one of Los Angeles' best players, he's also a richly gifted and distinctive songwriter, as expressive in his writing as on his bass”.
