The Rolling Stones will mark the 40th anniversary of their 1981 album, "Tattoo You", with a reissue featuring a bonus disc filled with previously unreleased material. The set will arrive on October 22nd, 2021, via Polydor, Interscope and Universal Music.
To accompany the announcement, the Stones just released “Living In The Heart Of Love”, one of the 9 previously unreleased songs that will appear on the bonus disc, "Lost & Found". The 9 songs were all originally recorded while the Stones were making "Tattoo You", but were recently completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar.
This bonus disc of rarites comes with the 2 CD set, and the 4 CD + 1 LP set. The latter also includes 2 additional CD's of live performance with "Still Life : Wembley Stadium 1982", a memento of the band’s London show in June that year from the "Tattoo You tour". The vinyl record in the deluxe set is a picture disc.
The box set features a special lenticular sleeve and comes with a 124 page book featuring over 200 rare photos from the recording sessions and world tour, and includes interviews with producer Chris Kimsey and photographer Hubert Kretzscmar.
There are no less than 3 LP versions of the "Tattoo You" reissue. A single LP vinyl remaster, a 2 LP vinyl set with the 9 bonus tracks, and a 5 LP vinyl box set which includes the album, bonus tracks and the Wembley gig. The vinyl box also includes the 124 page book and lenticular artwork, just like the CD deluxe set.
