The War And Treaty have announced the Valentine’s Day release, February 14th, 2025, of their 4th studio album, "Plus One". The husband and wife duo, Michael and Tanya Trotter have infused the set with their unique brand of amity, as reflected in the collection’s initial preview, “Carried Away”, an ode to togetherness and unity.

According to the pair, “This body of work was the most challenging due to the nature of the subject matters. We learned a lot about ourselves, our family, our friends, and enemies”. The aforementioned comment was shared via their official Instagram. In tangent with their social media reflection, the Trotters reflected further on the process via a press release, mentioning Michael’s role as a producer for "Plus One", recorded at the lauded FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

The follow up to 2023’s "Lover’s Game", their forthcoming collection boasts 18 songs that touch on nodes of gospel, bluegrass, contemporary country, classic soul, symphonic pop, folk rock, and more. In addition to Michael, the pair sought production advice from Jonathan Singleton, John Shanks and Jesse Frasure, to create something reflective of the moment, the timelessness of the pair’s craft, steeped in visions for the future.

“We see this record as an open invitation to be a part of what we’re doing, it came from wanting to be the hope we believe people need right now, as well as the hope that we need for ourselves”, Tanya Trotter shares. “One of our main intentions with this album is to inspire people to share themselves with others and open themselves up to the possibility of being loved”, Michael Trotter shares.

Amongst the material to make the tracking list are collaborations with fellow scenester and bluegrass favorite Billy Strings, who adds his signature strums on top of “Drink From Me”. Also receiving guest assistance, “Love Like Whiskey” represents a co-write between the husband and wife duo and country star Miranda Lambert.
