Ashes Falling

Faraways SWE is a band that has been active since the 90’s, based around the two founding members Erik Holmberg on guitars and vocals, and Tomas Axelsson on bass, together with drummer and producer Tobias Walka. This time with contributions from peripheral musicians, lyricists and vocalists. Joined by their mutual love of 60’s and 70’s rock, fusion, electronic music, folk, goth, psychedelia, americana and country, they deliver a unique but familiar blend of music.

In the year of covid, 2020 the original Faraways got a fancy and started jamming again, just the 2 of them, in the same way as things started out back in the day. After a couple of rehearsals and some re-recordings of old material later, one of the original drummers, a multi instrumentalist and producer was invited to rejoin the band. The members are joined by a mutual love of 60’s and 70’s rock, fusion jazz and electronic music. The debut album "Decades Of Dormancy" was released to critical acclaim in the summer of 2023.

The forthcoming single, “Ashes Falling”, came into being one late summer evening while jamming. The lyrics are loosely based on a dream dreamt by Erik, about a post apocalyptic world where AI and it’s drones have taken over the world, and mankind is all but eradicated, apart from the few wealthy enough to pay for their freedom and continued existence. "Ashes Falling is the 1st single from the upcoming album, “Utopia Zoo”, scheduled for release in 2024.
