Sheryl Crow will release "Evolution", her 12th studio album in March next year. The record will feature 9 new tracks and has been produced by Mike Elizondo.

This announcement is mildly surprising given that Crow had announced that she would no longer make albums after 2019’s ultra collaborative "Threads". She explains: “Everything has gotten more song oriented with streaming, and making an album is a huge endeavor. I started off sending 1 song to Mike, which turned into 4, and it was going to be an EP. But the songs just kept flowing out of me, 4 songs turned into 9 and it was pretty obvious this was an album”.

The album features the single "Alarm Clock", which Crow premiered on Jimmy Fallon recently, and clocks in at a brief 35 minutes. There’s nothing complicated about the physical formats which amount to a vinyl LP and a CD. That seems to be it.

"Evolution" will be released on March 29th, 2024, via Big Machine.
