Singer, songwriter and producer Carla Olson has announced that she will release the 3rd volume in her series of duet albums, "Have Harmony, Will Travel 3", via BFD Records and The Orchard on October 20th, 2023.
The album follows "Night Comes Falling", Carla’s 2022 collaboration with Stephen McCarthy of The Long Ryders and like the two previous volumes of "Have Harmony, Will Travel", features a storied guest list of some of Carla Olson’s highly accomplished friends.
The new album includes appearances by Texas guitarists Eric Johnson, Jake Andrews and Gary Myrick, along with fellow guitarists Craig Ross, Todd Wolfe, Laurence Juber, Jonathan Lea, and legendary harmonica player Mickey Raphael.
Guest vocalists include BJ Thomas, Allan Clarke, Harvey Shield, Robert Rex Waller Jr, and Shawn Barton Vach. Closing the album are 3 previously unreleased live tracks recorded with Gene Clark.
Songs on the album include classics written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Gene Clark and others, along with 2 new songs written by Carla Olson and Allan Clarke.
Carla Olson is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter and producer who co-founded The Textones with Kathy Valentine. In addition to recording her own solo albums since the 1980's, she also released albums with Gene Clark and Mick Taylor, was featured in Bob Dylan’s 1st video, “Sweetheart Like You”, has recorded with Eric Clapton and John Fogerty, has written music to poems by Brian Jones and Jim Morrison, with the permission of their estates, and has produced albums by a wide range of artists including Paul Jones, Phil Upchurch, Joe Louis Walker and Mare Winningham.
