Jenny Lewis is back with her 1st new album in 4 years. It’s called "Joy’all" and it’s out June 9th, 2023, via Blue Note and Capitol Records.
The follow-up to 2019’s "On The Line" was penned over the past few years, with a portion of it stemming from a week long virtual songwriting workshop hosted by Beck. “The challenge was to write 1 song every day for 7 days, with guidelines from Beck”, Lewis says. “The guidelines would be prompts like ‘write a song with 1-4-5 chord progression’, ‘write a song with only cliches’, or ‘write in the free form style’.”
"Joy’all" was produced by Dave Cobb and engineered and mixed by Greg Koller. Also rounding out the album’s arsenal is Jon Brion, who graciously added to the album. The album includes Lewis’ “Puppy And A Truck”.
