Award winning British vocalist and songwriter Rumer has long been drawn to the storytelling of country music. Her career was kicked off by her 2010 album “Seasons Of My Soul”, one of the years top charting releases and which was certified platinum in the UK and Ireland.

It was while spending some time living in the american south away from the spotlight that she fell in love with the writing of Texan born Hugh Prestwood, a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame, whose songs have been recorded over the years by numerous country artists, including Trisha Yearwood whose recording of “The Song Remembers When” won him an Emmy in 1994.

Hugh’s songs were the catalyst for Rumer’s upcoming 5th album, “Nashville Tears”, which will be released on Cooking Vinyl on April 24th, 2020, the 15 tracks including several of his songs which have never been recorded until now, and she has also re-interpreted the aforementioned Emmy winning write .

Rumer says of the album “I can’t wait for more music lovers to discover Hugh Prestwood‘s magnificent catalogue. I know without a doubt they’ll be as grateful as I am to have found him”.
