"In this difficult period, it is important to find examples of tenacity and courage. Recently I discovered 'The Letter From The Birmingham Jail', written by Dr Martin Luther King Jr. and I was deeply touched. I wrote this new song in tribute to his memory and in hope of shining some light in this dark time. The song is inspired and dedicated to this giant of non violent resistance and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and was being released on the anniversary of his birth. It refers to the Selma March of 1965 and more particularly to March 7, 1965. On that day 600 peaceful protestors crossed the Edmund Pettus bridge in Selma, Alabama, fighting for the right to vote for African Americans and brought on a new era in American history." ~ Zachary Richard
