Cina Samuelson is a Swedish country artist and has worked on country scenes around Scandinavia for many years, and has also made some touring in Holland, Germany and the US, where she has performed at various events.
She has collaborated with several American country artists and has also done duets on albums with some of them. Cina has released several albums, largely with her own material, on her own label CCM, Cool Country Music.
Cina won the award for 'Best Country Song & Amazing Female Artist' for the song “Connie and Loretta” and 'Best Cover Song All Genre Female' for the song 'Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground' at the F.P.C.M. Red Carpet Award Show in Holland.
The new album, "Good Ol’ Music", is a collaboration with Tuten Records, Sweden. The record label wanted an album with a mix of 50's and 60's country, cross over country of the time and songs that were in the hillbilly, rockabilly and western swing style.
It suited Cina very well as she herself enjoys singing that type of music, and she selected a number of songs that were recorded in a live session, i.e. all the musicians were on site at the same time, in Gura Studios, Mariestad.
The producer, pedal steel player Berra Karlsson, and co-producer, Cina Samuelson, felt that this was how it should be recorded, like in the good old days, to get the right feel and to do the songs justice.
In addition to the recording, a few overdub tracks were made in a studio in Töcksfors where backing vocals and other parts were recorded.
The musicians who participate on the album are :
Cina Samuelson, lead vocals
Erik Lindstedt, drums
Örjan Wressel, upright bass
Andreas Carlsson Vahlund, acoustic and electric guitars
Stickan Lindell, piano
Berra Karlsson, pedal steel
Johnny Samuelsson, fiddle
Dan Edvinsson, Malin Samuelsson, Berra Karlsson, Cina Samuelson, backing vocals
Fun with all the wonderful musicians who contributed with joy of playing and showing respect and great care for the songs.
First single from the album, "I Know I'll Lose Again" is out now, the CD version of "Good Ol' Music" will be released on August 14th, and the digital album will see the light of day a little later.
