"Foreign Tongues" is the Rolling Stones’ upcoming studio album, produced by Andrew Watt and scheduled for release on July 10th, 2026 via Capitol and Capitol Records.
The album was recorded between 2019, 2022–2023, and 2025–2026 at Henson Studios in Los Angeles and Metropolis Studios in London, capturing the band’s signature blues rock sound, while exploring fresh sonic territory.
It follows their 2023 Grammy winning album, "Hackney Diamonds", and includes material from the band’s final session with drummer Charlie Watts.
The album is led by the singles “In The Stars” and “Rough & Twisted”, released on May 5th, 2026. “In The Stars” features a pop rock style with a memorable chorus and backing vocals, while “Rough & Twisted” is a bluesy, foot stomping rocker reminiscent of the Stones’ early 1970s recordings. Both singles were promoted with a creative campaign, including a limited vinyl release under the pseudonym The Cockroaches.
"Foreign Tongues" features notable guest contributions from Paul McCartney, Robert Smith (The Cure), Steve Winwood, and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). The album also includes the final recording with Charlie Watts, adding a historic and emotional element to the collection.
The album contains 14 tracks, with most song titles translated into different languages, reflecting the album’s title concept.
The cover artwork, titled “Trinity” (2025), was created by American painter Nathaniel Mary Quinn. It features a surreal, collage like composite of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood’s faces, inspired by Francis Bacon’s style.
The album was teased through a global campaign with posters displaying “Foreign Tongues” in multiple languages, generating anticipation among fans.
"Foreign Tongues" will be available in multiple formats, including standard and deluxe CD's, colored vinyl, boxsets, and even cassette tapes, with pre-orders already open. The album captures the Rolling Stones’ classic sound while introducing new collaborations and creative concepts, making it a significant addition to their legendary discography.
