"This is the 2nd album from Swedish band Sigvard & The Bonewhispers. Once again, all the songs are written by Jonas 'Joppe' Sigvard Hellerup, who grew up with country and punk. And that's still evident in his music. 'Land Of The Midnight Sun' is filled with a mix of catchy country punk, rock, and more profound ballads. 'When I Die', for example, is a cheerful, bouncy country tune, while songs like 'Go To War' and 'Harbour' demonstrate Hellerup's ability to write songs that resonate and have so much depth that they truly stay with you. 'Better Than Me', on the other hand, is a lighthearted Caribbean tune that wouldn't have been out of place in the repertoire of the late Jimmy Buffett. The 52 year old Swede with his gravelly voice is a late bloomer, having only started writing songs in his late 30's. But together with his Bonewhispers, he's already made a name for himself."
