- Micheles Kindh / Blaskan -

"Ryan Holweger’s body of work has bloomed once again, with the inception of 'The Golden Paper Flower'. Holweger’s 2018 debut solo album, “Gunmetal Sky”, left some big shoes to fill, and he responded to the challenge with a deep, ethereal voice that transcends the limitations of its genre."

- Kenneth Bremer / Blue Desert -

"The songs on Ryan Holweger's ' The Golden Paper Flower' are very well constructed with a loose feel to a number of the arrangements, leaving lots of space for the players to express themselves. This is a strong album and one that stands up very well on repeated plays."

- Paul McGee / Lonesome Highway -

"Ryan Holweger’s latest album, 'The Golden Paper Flower', breezes in like a breath of fresh air. The album opens with a couple of songs which have a touch of Israel Nash’s cosmic country sounds, wispy vocals swirling over spacey guitar, but there is more light and shade here than on the recent Nash albums, most evident on the billowing pedal steel laced ‘Bleed All Over’. Highly recommended."

- Paul Kerr / Americana UK -

"Ryan Holweger has released a wonderful album in 'The Golden Papar Flower'which stirs some southern gothic, alternative country and a large dollup of americana in the pot to produce a world weary album. 'All I want to do is hang out in the kitchen drinkin' whisky with you'. Pretty much sums it up. Set them up."

Sean McGhee / Rock'N'Reel Magazine -

"The music, while not entirely country or folk, has thin branches that reach out in all directions. The song themes impress and enlighten, delight and lubricate the ears that need to know there’s a reason God put music on this earth. An excellent inventory of music. One of the year’s best."

- John Apice / Americana Highways -

"7 years after the release of his debut album, ‘Gunmetal Sky’, US singer songwriter Ryan Holweger, from Syracuse, New York, has released a follow up record, ‘The Golden Paper Flower’. It contains 8 self penned tracks and one song written by his friend Ryan Lansing. We get a mix of folk, alt.country and americana, on the excellent new album from this talented musician."

- Valére Sampermans / Rootstime -

"Ryan Holweger's 'The Golden Paper Flower' should be seen as a harmonious whole, where the author’s originality, as well as the very layered participation of other actors, ultimately creates something completely different from what you might have expected as a listener at the beginning. Attention should be paid to both this release and this author, and his next steps should be closely followed."

- Branimir Lokner / Time Machine Music -
