In proper celebration of 50 years of Frank Zappa's "Apostrophe", Universal Music and Zappa Records are introducing a newly expanded 50th anniversary edition of Zappa’s landmark 1974 album and 1st gold selling record in his career.

“Here we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of arguably the most popular record in Frank Zappa’s epic catalog. With 'Apostrophe', Zappa continued to carve out his own genre in music, while celebrating 10 years in the business. Nobody sounded like Frank Zappa. This album, and specifically 'Don't Eat The Yellow Snow' brought that unique wonderful sound to the masses in a way that nobody, including Frank, would expect.” ~ – Joe Travers, Zappa Vaultmeister

This release includes 66 unreleased and rare studio and live tracks hand picked for the album's creation. The 75 track, 6 disc expanded super deluxe edition contains 5 CD's and 1 BluRay disc with outtakes, alternate edits, 2024 mixes and unedited bonus vault masters, plus 2 historical live concert recordings from 1974. One captured at an unidentified venue in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the other recorded at Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio.

The BluRay contains the core album newly remixed in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound, plus it includes Zappa’s original 4 channel quadraphonic mix, available again for the 1st time since 1974, and the hi res stereo 2024 remaster. The set is rounded out with a 52 page booklet and unseen photos from the archives of Sam Emerson, along with liner notes and new essays by noted British journalist Simon Prentis and, as always, Vaultmeister Travers.

In addition to the super deluxe edition box set, there will be 2 separate 180 gram vinyl servings, including a 2 LP + 7" single edition, and a 1 LP gold nugget color variant, featuring the original album’s 9 tracks. In the color vinyl set, both LP's appear on white vinyl with yellow snow splatter. Meanwhile, the 7" of “Don’t Eat The Yellow Snow” is a reproduction of the original 1974 single with “Cosmik Debris”, but this time, it comes on cosmic glow in the dark with yellow splatter vinyl.

Will be available everywhere on September 13th, 2024.
