Ingenious Devices

Big Big Train's new album, "Ingenious Devices" will be released on June 30th, 2023, on CD, double LP, black and sky blue vinyl, and on Bandcamp download. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms from July 28th, 2023.

A brief word of explanation on timing. While streaming is without question an important element in making the band’s music available as widely as possible, physical sales and Bandcamp downloads remain vital to sustain the continuing existence of Big Big Train. To encourage physical sales and Bandcamp downloads they have therefore deliberately decided to hold streaming back for 4 weeks after the release of the CD, vinyl and Bandcamp download versions of this album.

"Ingenious Devices" features new versions of "East Coast Racer", "Brooklands" and "Voyager", which prominently feature an elite 17 piece string section recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London and have been remixed for this release.

Additionally "Ingenious Devices" includes a previously unreleased orchestral piece called "The Book Of Ingenious Devices", which links "East Coast Racer" and "Brooklands", as well as a live version of "Atlantic Cable", which was recorded on the band’s tour in September 2022.
