Maria Skanselid är vissångaren från väst som skriver snillrika visor om vardagen. Kommande skivan med det dubbeltydiga namnet “Vill”, som släpps den 24:e april, 2026, är också Marias debut. Tillsammans med pianisten David Törnebäck, basisten Johan Bengtsson, slagverkaren Tapha Ndiongue, samt gäster, uppstår ett spontant samskapande i gränslandet mellan visa och jazz.

Som vuxen är man full av sociala konstruktioner, 'sanningar'. Men hur var det innan man visste nåt om dom? I låten "Koko" har Maria vaskat bland gamla textrader från ungdomsåren, kompletterat och klätt det hela i nya musikaliska kläder ihop med medmusikanterna och producenten.

"Koko" är den andra singeln från det kommande albumet "Vill", ute på alla strömningstjänster den 24:e februari, 2026.

Maria Skanselid is the singer songwriter from the western parts of Sweden who crafts ingenious songs about everyday life. The upcoming album with the double-meaning title “Vill”, to be released on April 24th, 2026, is also Maria’s debut. Together with pianist David Törnebäck, bassist Johan Bengtsson, percussionist Tapha Ndiongue, and guest musicians, a spontaneous co-creation emerges in the borderland between folk and jazz.

As adults, we are full of social constructs, 'truths'. But what was it like before we knew anything about them? In the song "Koko", Maria has sifted through old lyric lines from her youth, added to them, and dressed the whole thing in new musical clothes together with her fellow musicians and the producer.

"Koko" is the 2nd single from the forthcoming album, "Vill", and will be released on all streaming services February 24th, 2026.
