"Vill Du Leka?" is a true to self, honest debut journey into what it's like to dare to listen inwardly. The nyckelharpa, beats and voices take the listener on a queer adventure to untangle oneself from the emotional thicket and blossom on the other side in one big non binary freedom.

It all started with the simple question: Do you wanna play? A question often synonymous with childhood and which you so rarely ask yourself over the years.

Fredy Samuel asked themself the question and the answer was 'yes!'. A 'yes' that meant choosing the present, and suddenly they realized. ”I'm stuck in a feeling, in an identity, in a life situation that I don't know how to get out of”.

”When I then chose play and started searching inward with a flashlight, extremely interested, all doors opened up simultaneously and growth happened rapidly”.

Meditation became Fredy Samuel's inner amplifier that allowed the emotions, the inner obstacles to take place and be heard. After a while, clue after clue fell down like ripe apples and it was just a matter of receiving in gratitude.

Clue, Fredy Clue, arose from this inner work and the music in the new EP unfurled along this journey of discovering the new name. It found its place and is now ready for debut release on June 2nd, 2023.

The EP is released hand in hand with the non binary folk costume project 'Bäckadräkten', for which Fredy Samuel is the project manager. A project that draws attention to and celebrates the queer and allows it to have a place in a binary folk tradition and civil society. The EP is played live on stage together with 'Bäckadräkten' and creates a performance about Fredy Samuel's personal journey in search of identity.

"Vill Du Leka?" är en genomärlig debutresa i hur det är att våga lyssna inåt. Nyckelharpan, beats och sång leder lyssnaren på ett queer äventyr i hur det är att trassla sig ur känslosnåren och blomma ut på andra sidan i en enda stor ickebinär frihet.

Allt började med den lilla frågan "Vill du leka?". En fråga ofta synonym med barndomen och som du nu för tiden sällan frågar dig själv.

2021 ställde sig Fredy Samuel frågan till sig själv för att leta i välmåendet. Svaret blev ett ringande 'ja'! Ett 'ja' som innebar att välja nuet och hitta sätt att undanröja hindren som tyglar leken. Plötsligt insåg de. ”Jag är fast i en känsla, i en identitet, i en livssituation som jag inte vet hur jag ska komma ur”.

”När jag då valde leken och började att leta inåt med ficklampa, oerhört intresserad, kom utvecklingen automatiskt, snabbt som en raket flög jag fram!”.

Meditationen blev Fredy Samuels inre förstärkare som lät känslorna, de inre hinderna ta plats och höras. Efter ett tag så föll ledtråd efter ledtråd ned likt mogna äpplen och det var bara att tacka och ta emot.

Clue, Fredy Clue, kommer just från den känslan, namnet fångades i luften och la sig snabbt till ro.

Musiken på EP'n lika så. Den har funnit sin plats och är nu redo för skivsläpp den 2:a juni 2023.

EP'n släpps hand i hand med det ickebinära folkdräktsprojekt 'Bäckadräkten' som Fredy Samuel är projektledare för. Ett projekt som uppmärksammar och firar det queera och låter det få plats i en binär folktradition och civilsamhälle. EPn spelas live på scen tillsammans med Bäckadräkten och skapar en föreställning om Fredy Samuels personliga resa i sökandet efter en identitet.
