"Turnpike" is the 1st single from Born 53's forthcoming album with the same name. The new album, produced by Alar Suurna, could have been subtitled "Half-American Blues". Much of its style and heart is americana with topical content and impressions of events from the last decade flashing by, song by song. Suurna’s production on "Turnpike" takes Born 53 to a new level, giving the band both an artful and commercial sounding boost.
Born 53 was founded in 2005 and has since then released 5 albums. Since 2018 the line up consists of Anders Lindh, vocals and guitar, Hans Birkholz, guitars, and a bunch of other string instruments, Åsa Källén-Lindh, lead and backing vocals and mandolin, Lars-Gunnar Larsson, bass, and Alar Suurna, drums. On the new "Turnpike" album also augmented by Robert Fekete on keyboards. Originally rooted, both in the British 60’s folk scene and in the americana singer songwriting tradition with Lindh and Birkholz providing the original material, in a topical vein, with a variety of subjects and musical styles.
